WordPerfect 

WordPerfect is a popular word processing application from Corel. Most other office suites (e.g., StarOffice, Lotus, Word) can read WordPerfect files.

ZIP / Self-Extracting ZIP

ZIP files are used to simplify the download process by wrapping a number of separate files into a single "wrapper" and compressing the original files by a significant amount. ZIP and UNZIP software is available from a variety of vendors.

PKZIP: It shrinks files by up to 95 percent to improve email performance and create more storage space. You can also use PKZIP to set passwords to protect your important documents, giving you complete control over who can access your valuable information.

Additionally, Aladdin Expander from Aladdin Systems Incorporated is a freeware package and Winzip has a free evalation copy that is good for 21 days. After that, you will be required to pay for the full version.
