Park Avenue Welcomes Interim Principal for 2026-2027

Kristina Spithogiannis has been named the interim principal of Park Avenue Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. She brings 13 years of experience, and most recently served as North Bellmore’s Response to Invention coordinator, in which she assisted with the universal pre-kindergarten program as well as all assessments and academic services.
Ms. Spithogiannis was a special education teacher for 10 years, working in a variety of settings such as life skills, integrated co-teaching, self-contained and general education. Her teaching career began in the Lindenhurst School District, then she was in the Seaford School District for eight years as an elementary special education teacher. In 2024, Ms. Spithogiannis came to North Bellmore as RtI coordinator.
She received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Marist College, a master’s degree in early childhood special education from Vanderbilt University and educational leadership certificates in school building and school district leadership from Stony Brook University.
“I am looking forward to becoming a member of the Park Avenue community,” Ms. Spithogiannis said. “I’m ready for an exciting year, getting to know the true meaning behind Park Pride, and making meaningful connections with families, students, staff members and all who call Park Avenue home.”
