District Honors the Next Generation of Artists
The creativity and talent of 25 North Bellmore students were on display to begin the February board of education meeting, as the district hosted its annual art celebration.
Framed artwork was on exhibition in the Martin Avenue Elementary School all-purpose room for guests to view. As students and families arrived, youngsters rushed over and proudly pointed out their pieces. The artwork represented all five elementary schools and showcased a variety of projects from kindergarten through sixth grade, including drawings, paintings and mixed media.
Each of the three art teachers – Jillian Bock, Erica Farley and Amy Lopez – selected several students to spotlight. The youngsters were presented with certificates of recognition. At the end of the night, every administrator chose a piece of artwork to hang in his or her office for the next year.
The recognized student-artists were:
John G. Dinkelmeyer Elementary School: Jacob Carrasco, Nora Cassidy, Luke Knudsen, Samantha Livolsi and Christopher Synowiec.
Martin Avenue Elementary School: Alexandra Ballestas, Avianna DiGioia, Luca Gallace and Georgios Pappas.
Newbridge Road Elementary School: Nicole Alonzo, Erick He, Lucas Maher and Elena Yager.
Park Avenue Elementary School: Xcencia Benden, Hunter Harris, Kelsea Sirignano an Christian Suriano.
Saw Mill Road Elementary School: Adaline Bentanzos, Dylan Debedin, Dylan Herschkowitz, Hailey Ianniello, Norah Pierre-Louis, Sabrina Saitta, Kaylee Telford and William Umhafer.
