Dinkelmeyer Hoopsters Support Healthy Hearts
John G. Dinkelmeyer Elementary School continued its longstanding tradition of raising money for heart health while promoting personal fitness.
Students participated in the annual Hoops for Heart fundraiser in March, which is American Heart Month. They raised $410 to donate to the American Heart Association while playing various basketball games in physical education classes including Around the World, Challenger Champ and three-on-three.
Physical education teacher Jim Mulvey said the Hoops for Heart fundraiser has spanned nearly a decade. In addition to raising money to help others, students learn how to keep their own hearts healthy through regular exercise.
