North Bellmore Retirees Leave a Lasting Legacy

A dozen North Bellmore School District educators and support staff members will soon begin a new chapter in their lives, and the community came together to honor them on June 11 at Martin Avenue Elementary School. The board of education, administrators, teachers, buildings and grounds staff, paraprofessionals, parents and students celebrated this year’s retirees and their many years of service to the district.
“The true measure of a meaningful career is found not only in the years of service it represents, but in the countless lives it enriches along the way,” Superintendent Marie Testa said. “It is a privilege to step back and see the full arc of their careers – the work, the commitment and the lasting legacy of those who have dedicated so many years to the schools, to the community and to our students in North Bellmore.”
Speeches about the retirees captured their contributions to the district and impact on students. Through anecdotes and reflections, the audience gained insight into careers that, for many, spanned decades.
